Before co-founding the firm KNOETZL in 2016, Patrizia was a partner and arbitration expert in a dispute resolution boutique in Vienna.
Patrizia practices both as counsel and arbitrator. She has extensive experience in institutional and ad-hoc arbitration proceedings (including the Rules of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Rules of Arbitration of the VIAC (Vienna Rules), the German Institution of Arbitration (DIS) and UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules). Her core practice is international commercial arbitration, focusing on construction and engineering, M&A projects, aviation, distribution and international sales disputes.
Since January 2020, Patrizia is a member of the Board of VIAC (Vienna International Arbitral Centre). Patrizia is also the Co-Director of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, the world’s largest and most renowned law student competition in the field of arbitration.
Patrizia is co-author of the VIAC Handbook Vienna Rules, A Practitioner’s Guide (2019) and was a member of the expert group working on the revision of the Vienna Rules 2013 (Vienna Rules 2018). Patrizia lectures arbitration at the Austrian Arbitration Academy. Patrizia is Austria’s steering committee member of the Pledge for Equal Representation in Arbitration.
